It was John's father, a well known businessman who gave him the inspiration to build his first car

British Turntable Company has been established in Bolton, England since 1959. The company has now developed a wide range of display and industrial turntables, for a multitude of diverse applications used worldwide.
Our expertise gathered over 4 decades of continuous turntable development is unrivaled. As well as our business being in the UK where we are market leaders, we are also widely recognised internationally through our network of associates in the USA, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Australasia and South East Asia, as well as having supplied over 120 countries, many of whom are repeat customers.
Known and respected by leading car manufacturers for our range of vehicle turntables, which because of their aesthetic appeal and sheer reliability, have found ready acceptance on direct sale throughout the world, British Turntable has further improved the availability of the equipment for use at motor show and exhibitions by establishing a hire service throughout Europe.
Display turntables for general use are also manufactured in great variety, ranging from small battery operated units and point of purchase movements to one of 25 tonnes capacity for heavy duty displays. These are also available on hire for conferences and exhibitions and in addition our wealth of products have earned British Turntable a respected reputation by through regular use in film and TV studios and for product launches.
Our customers vary from High Street shops and department stores to the largest global organisations such as Marks and Spencers, British Aerospace, the Ministry of Defence, Ford Motor Company and General Motors. Contract values vary from a few pounds to hundreds of thousands of pounds, with contract timescales varying from overnight delivery to 12 month design and bespoke build programmes.
Our Industrial Division has experience of building turntables up to hundreds of tonnes capacity and 35 metres in diameter. The complexity in design of these units varies from simple manually operated turntables to units with high resolution positioning requirements and full computer control interfaces. Application use of our turntables ranges from vehicle access revolves for use in restricted city centre areas for rotating cars and delivery vehicles to rotating complete aircraft undergoing various forms of testing. Whilst our industrial sales have mostly been concentrated in the UK we are now enjoying success in exporting this technology particularly into European markets.
Furthermore our range of revolving restaurants and T.D.A (Turntable Divisible Auditoriums) are proving ever more popular with our customers.
We are confident of our future growth, particularly as we continue our drive into European and World markets. We are already exporting to over one hundred and twenty countries world wide and are dedicated to strengthening this initiative. We feel that the quality of our products and services is reflected in the large amount of repeat orders gained from customers as well as the majority of our new business is gained through recommendation from previous customers.
